In March 2007 SDIA’s Executive Director, Virginia Thomas made a visit to Susila Dharma projects and SD Colombia.
"In a country suffering from 50 years of armed conflict, violence, and
widespread displacement and poverty, it is fascinating to see how Subud
members approach community building and re-building. Building strong
local partnerships, promoting community participation and empowerment
are key factors for achieving sustainable organisations and results."
Sometimes SDIA Directors or staff, or other representatives of members of the network, pay a visit to one or more SD projects in a region. To help other members of the SD Network understand regional and local realities, SDIA publishes reports on these visits.

In June 2008 SDIA's Executive Chair Virginia Thomas made a visit to Susila Dharma projects and SD DR Congo.
"As we travelled to the SD projects and met with Subud members in different centres, we became aware that life here is very hard, illness and death very present, and food and goods too expensive. People are unemployed or underpaid, if they are paid at all; and they need to be very entrepreneurial to survive."
