Monitoring and Evaluation
SDIA encourages and support all members to manifest their commitment
to full accountability and transparency to beneficiaries, donors, our
SD Network and public by engaging in internal monitoring of project
impacts and periodic external evaluations of their activities. To help
members increase their knowledge and skill at monitoring and
evaluation, here are some good resources that we recommend:
DAC Criteria for Evaluating Development Assistance
OECD's DAC provides a short 2-page document, that summarizes the main
criteria to evaluate programmes and projects: Relevance,
effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability. A useful entry
point to the vast topic of "Evaluation" in the development field.
BOND's Guidance Notes No. 4.3 on Monitoring and Evaluation:
This is a brief but helpful guide that answers many questions about
when and how to carry out project monitoring and evaluation.
